Graffiti suspect arrested again

A Napa teen busted Wednesday for graffiti is back behind bars.
On Wednesday, Jena Danielle Cloud, 19, along with Alvin Maurice Thomas, 20, of Napa, was arrested on suspicion of tagging numerous locations in Napa.
At her arraignment, the court released Cloud on her own recognizance with a future court date. Part of the terms of her release is that she not possess tools used for graffiti.
On Thursday, Napa police investigators served a search warrant at Cloud’s residence in the 1500 block of Menlo Avenue.
During the search, detectives found markers and pens used for tagging in Cloud’s bedroom, Napa Police Sgt. Brian McGovern said.
“They also found a wallet and identification belonging to someone else,” he said. “We have not been able to contact the owner to determine if the items are stolen. She said they are not stolen.”
Cloud was arrested on suspicion of possession of graffiti tools, misappropriation of lost property and committing a crime while out on bail — possession of the markers and pens.
According to police, Cloud used the moniker “imajen” for tagging.
Cloud is being held without bail in the county jail.

You'd do well to ask one of your elders if they have a recipe for something called, Humble Pie. We've all had to learn how to make that dish. Now it's your turn. It's part of what's called, growing up. There's still time for you. All is not lost.
Now go do the right thing while you still have a chance. "

She had time to do plenty of blogging - must be a case of misplaced priorities. Maybe misplacing priorities is a real syndrome and has its own drug? Maybe she can invoke ADA exceptions for her "disability?"
Otherwise, leeway doesn't really lessen graffiti, and I believe graffiti reduction is the whole point of anti-graffiti laws. "

She was posting her comments on July 29th, which would be on Tuesday. According to the in custody search for Napa County Jail, Alvin Thomas was booked on Monday July 28th at 9:21 AM and is still in jail. If Jena was arrested at the same time as him, she was actually arrested on Monday, not Wednesday as the NVR previously reported.
Since she was commenting on this site on Tuesday about her arrest, I would venture to guess she was in fact arrested on Monday. She had the entire week to rid herself of the paraphanelia and didn't.
This girl needs a wakeup call. Her immaturity and arrogance is catching up to her and hopefully she will learn her lesson this time. "

Good job NPD, and all.
So... nine months for molesting high school girls, nine years for selling land you don't own. Since no grapes were involved - I imagine the sentence will be really lite for tagging.
NVR - Please continue to report on this. Better than a soap opera. "

I'm wondering if the NPD were looking for Jena's computer to use her posted comments as evidence against her. It's the only logical reason they would have 'dropped by' so soon after having letting her go.
I'd like to congratulate my fellow commentators for drawing Jena out and exposing her for the criminal she apparently is. With CA's new laws on graffiti I'm sure we'll be seeing plenty of Jena scrubbing walls and fences around town. "

I hope she gets a fitting punishment, one she learns from, one that gives her food for thought, and keeps her busy helping others. But the remarks here are really kinda cruel--they're directed at a very young girl. "

As for being "a kid" - I think we were all "kids"and defacing other people's property wasn't something we engaged in.
Granted, it certainly doesn't warrant a stint in CYA, but a nice felony conviction may make her think twice before she engages in her chosen "art form".
I hope she enjoys her weekend in the slammer! "

It appears that the articles in the NVR have stirred up more then a couple of tagger arrests. I have never seen tagging like this in the 19 years I've lived here.
The sound wall along Solono, the bank building in Bel Aire, the tire place next to Sizzler, the wall next to Roundtable, and the sidewalk entrance to a motel across from Roundtable, to name the ones I can remember.
Looks like all the hulaballoo has awakened the sleeping giant. We have a tagging war on our hands. "

I am a graffiti investigation expert. Kids get into graffiti as a form of self expression. The common denomiator that I see in my hundreds of investigations is the lack of attention from parents, bar none. These kids are from poor, middle class, and affluent families. They have a serious lack of attention. YOU CANNOT PUT THEM IN A SQUARE BOX AND SAY THEY ARE JUST HOODLUMS OR CRIMINALS. Yes, parents are to blame based on my experience of eight years of investigations in graffiti. Please show your kids they matter. Regardless of your tax bracket. They need love, attention. These kids OWN what they tag with their signature. They get accolades from peers for bravery. MOST of them are very talented artists that do not have the means to express themselves. PLEASE support our local art programs, love your children, show them attention. I've arrested 30 year olds for graffiti. Honestly, most are NOT drug users. In fact, many are vegetarians. I respect their talent, but enforce their lack of respect for our proprerties. Jena is very typical. for taggers. To stop them: Search and seizure probation! That way, cops keep the tools for graffiti out of their hands. I'd be happy to answer you questions. "

You said, "These kids OWN what they tag with their signature."
That's just it, they DO NOT own what they tag, just like the neighborhood mutt doesn't own my car when he hikes his leg on its tire.
These criminals, young and old, have NO EXCUSE for their breaking the law. They may not be loved or encouraged by the people who should love and encourage them, but they are not stupid either.
I am tired of blaming other people and circumstances for the ILL-CHOICES other people make.
This one is simple, don't destroy other people's things. We learned that one the day we knocked over little Tommy's sand castle, at the beach. Remember?
I refuse to let Ms. Smarty Pants, Jena Cloud play victim here and cry, "I wasn't loved or encouraged by my parents" card.
She's a big girl and ignorance of the law is no excuse! "
pernodboi wrote on Aug 4, 2008 7:29 AM:
fitblue - regarding Dwayne's remarks that there seems to be more graffiti (I am noticing as well). What's your opinion? Do the taggers read the NVR as well? Are they retaliating?
I noticed a signature on about half of the light posts on the Imola bridge. But I am not sure if these are new or if I just never noticed before them before the articles in the NVR. "

i almost hope half these kids in napa that write go to your houses and tag on everything you own and love. because coming from someone who personally knows these kids, there's a big chance of that actually happening. you're all acting like these kids just robbed a bank or set a house on fire. they just want attention, they want to be individuals, they want to FEEL important. they want EVERYONE to see what they have to say, and they want people to care. apparently, you're all showing them that they're getting just what they want, you're undivided attention. so, obviously, it's never gonna stop. FREE IMAJEN, FREE SOMA. BOMB THE SYSTEM. "
