Chardonnay Biter-Mundt and Megan Morris of the Napa Valley Swim Team recently traveled to Bloomington, Ind., to compete in the Central Zone Sectional Championship Meet.

Having previously suffered from adverse weather and low air quality while competing in the Central Valley, the NVST standouts chose to forego another Bakersfield Sectional meet. They traveled instead to the Midwest, to take advantage of the excellent pool and predictable swimming conditions at Indiana University's indoor facility.
Biter-Mundt competed in the 50, 100-, 200-, and 400-meter freestyle events, while Morris competed in the 100 and 200 backstrokes, 200 free and 200 individual medley.

Biter-Mundt, who is going to be a senior at Vintage this fall, had a breakthrough performance in one of her signature events, the 50 free.  Her finals time of 26.78 won her the consolation final and ended up tying as the second fastest performance of the entire meet.
That performance has Biter-Mundt currently ranked 56th in the USA in the 17-18 girls age group, and has qualified her for both the USA Swimming Junior National and the National Championships.
