Pony tales: The Napa Valley Register was riding high at this parade on Lincoln Avenue in Calistoga. The ponies and hitch belong to the family of Earle Deits, who bought the venerable Napa Glove Co. in 1976. Deits’ uncle acquired the hitch and cart in the 1950s to promote Deits Bros. Camera Shop in Colorado Springs, Colo., and young Earle helped when it was time to trot things out. This photo is likely from the late 1970s.
